Locast has announced that it is now available for Vizio SmartCast TV users. With Locast, viewers can stream local channels, allowing access to live, local coverage of news, weather, sports, and more.
While the local channel streaming service is free, users
will get frequent disruptive notifications asking for a $5 monthly donation for
the service. When an automatic monthly donation is set up, the notifications
will stop and users can watch their channels without interruption.
To access the Locast app on your Vizio SmartCast TV, press
the input button and choose the SmartCast input, or press the V key or Home key
near the center of your Vizio remote. The Locast app will be displayed in the
app row of SmartCast Home or in the apps screen.
Once you download and install the Locast app on your Vizio SmartCast TV, you’ll need to activate it to start watching. You can activate on a phone, computer, or another device connected to your internet network. Just sign up, click Activate near the top left of the page, and enter the activation code.
