Attention fans of hurling and Gaelic football, as of today you can watch the Gaelic Games through the GAAGO channel on your Roku streaming player or Roku TV models in the U.S. The GAAGO channel brings the excitement, drama and skill of Gaelic Games to Roku users who can now enjoy the 2016 GAA Championships and The Sunday Game highlights show on their big screen.
For those new to the sport, Gaelic Games are mainly inclusive to two sports – hurling and Gaelic football. Hurling is the world’s fastest field sport and is an ancient Irish sport, first played over 3,000 years ago. Gaelic football is similar to rugby with 15 players in a team but uses a round, soccer-like ball. Gaelic Games are gaining popularity in the U.S. as well with now over 150 GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) clubs nationwide.
Through the new GAAGO channel fans can access over 120 GAA events, including the 2016 GAA Championships and The Sunday Game highlights show. Games are streamed in high-quality HD and include full commentary, scores, and studio programming as broadcast to audiences in Ireland.
Find the GAAGO channel in the “Sports” category in the Roku Channel Store. A Game Pass or Season Pass can be purchased within the channel for $175 and will provide access to over 100 televised matches, live and on-demand, as broadcast by RTÉ, in addition to 19 episodes of The Sunday Game highlights show. Individual games and The Sunday Game highlights show can also be purchased on an individual pay-per-game basis, priced at $11.
