We Finally Got a Better Look at Peacock’s Subscriber Numbers
Since launching last summer, we’ve only gotten a general look at Peacock’s subscriber numbers. The total number of subs reached 24.5 million in Q4 2021, but this time, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts broke down that number, sharing that Peacock’s premium paid tier has 9 million subscribers, while 7 million are subscribed through a bundle with Comcast or another pay TV distributor.
Disney Continues to Take Over the World
Disney is continuing the global expansion of its streaming service by launching in 42 new countries and 11 territories this summer. Details on launch dates, pricing, and what content will be available in each location haven’t yet been released.

A new FCC ruling will give customers more details on internet plans before buying. By disclosing things like speed, data caps, and introductory pricing vs. long term pricing, the new ruling will make it easier for consumers to know at a glance what to expect from their broadband contract to eliminate surprises and hidden fees later on.
WarnerMedia & Discovery Move Up Their Merger
After announcing a “definitive agreement” in May 2021, AT&T and Discovery are now expected to finalize their deal in Q2. While the companies are getting pushback, AT&T’s John Stankey sounded confident that the deal will go through.
